What is it?

This template lets you monitor in real time your orders, revenue, and, ultimately, your business's financial health. For each month, it shows the number of completed orders and returns. It also displays information about the costs you had to sustain for returns, as well as discounts.

Well, if you had a huge number of orders this month but revenue leaves much to be desired, you’d likely want to find out the reasons. With this report, you can! Maybe you applied too much discount or many customers returned your products.

An easy-to-understand line chart lets you compare the number of orders shipped versus the number of returns issued.

How does it benefit your business?

The number of orders and total revenue tell you whether your e-commerce is doing fine or not. Needless to say, monitoring them closely — and in real time — is important!

If you keep an eye on your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) — measurable values about your business’ performance — at all times, you can take action immediately when something goes wrong.

Let’s say you see an abnormal number of returns after a certain date. Then, you realize you introduced a new product around that date. Maybe the new product tends to have manufacturing defects. Or, its characteristics don’t match what you wrote in the product description, and therefore your customers’ expectations.

Anyway, the data you found in the report prompted you to find the solution in the right direction — finding out what’s wrong with the new product.

Let’s make another example. Imagine you’re reviewing your report and suddenly see fewer orders coming in after a certain date. This date is immediately after you made a major redesign of your website, so you wonder if that has something to do with the order drop.

You call the developer who redesigned your site and he finds out that the checkout button is not working. He fixes the issue immediately. How many orders would you have lost without being able to check that report?
